Great year for Croatian continental tourism
With the peak of the tourist season behind us, it is great to see accolades are still coming in for the great work of all tourism subjects across the country. On Wednesday, September 30th, at the “brand Leader Awards 2015” ceremony in Belgrade, Krapina Zagorje County won the awards in the category “Regional Continental Tourism Leader”.
Brand Leader Awards are given out to companies, institutions and individuals who have greatly contributed to the improvement, popularization and creation of a competitive image for tourist regions across South East Europe. Award was presented to the deputy county prefect Anđelko Ferak – Jambrek who didn’t miss the opportunity to remind everyone of the natural beauties of Zagorje with his presentation “Fairy-tale on the palm of your hand”.
As it is stated in the written explanation of the expert panel, Krapina Zagorje County is an example of an extraordinary tourist destination that greatly contributes to raising the reputation and trust in tourism of the entire South East Europe. Even though it builds its historical image with carefully selected strategies, in its tourist product Krapina Zagorje County implemented everything that is attractive, unique, interesting, positive and recognisable. By paying great attention to the creation and development of high quality year round tourist offer and its positioning on the regional and global market, Krapina Zagorje County has greatly contributed to the strengthening of both competitiveness and reputation of tourism in the entire region.
This was the 9th edition of the “Brand Leader Awards” and along with Krapina Zagorje County, two more awards were given to Croatian companies – Zadar Airport and Eko Etno Grupa lead by Dijana Katica for exceptional contribution in education and development of rural tourism in South East Europe
