June 26, 2023 – The project of reviving the Croatian Immunology Institute is taking on shape. They announced a tender for the design and construction of a plant for the production of snake antidote. The location is in the municipality of Rugvica near Zagreb, writes Poslovni.
Over the next month, bids will be collected for the job, estimated at around 4.8 million euros plus VAT. Specifically, they are looking for a partner for a set of jobs, including technical and architectural design, plant construction, and technical supervision.
Wide Range of Activities of the Croatian Immunology Institute
The maximum permissible values of particles for ‘clean rooms’ are specified precisely in the documentation. Moreover, the dimensions of the rooms are elaborated in detail.
According to the tender documentation, the facility will cover 2,000 square meters of gross construction area. Half of this will be intended for the production plant, and the other half for the laboratory, warehouse, IT, technical, and other common rooms.
The possibility of the building having one or two above-ground floors is open. The chosen partner should also care for access roads and alternative energy sources. It is also necessary to design and obtain permits for those. Although the scope of activities is broad, only one bidder must provide all segments in the project as designed by the Croatian Immunology Institute.
According to the explanation, these are activities that must be carried out in parallel, and one wants to avoid risking one of them slowing down the realization of the construction of the new production facility. During the design phase, the Institute emphasizes solutions that ensure the microbiological cleanliness of the air on the premises of the production facility and other standards in this production.
The maximum permissible particle values for so-called clean rooms and the client’s wishes are also listed. The dimensions of rooms and buildings with multiple floors are elaborated in detail.
The area of the new facility is 2,000 square meters, half of which will be used for production.
Fixed Penalties
Bidders are warned at the start that the displayed price is the maximum. It must include all direct and indirect costs. What’s more, it will not be possible to calculate additional costs. It is formed according to the “turnkey” principle. After submitting bids, according to the propositions in the tender, corrections will not be possible.
As far as deadlines are concerned, after the conclusion of the contract, six months from the date of the start of the execution of the contract are foreseen for the preparation of the project documentation. Twelve months will remain for the execution of the works from the introduction of the contractor to the job.
The Immunology Institute determines the fine for breaking the deadlines, one per thousand of the contracted price for each calendar day. The maximum amount must be at most five percent. Moreover, the payment to the contractor will be reduced for that amount at the end.
The construction of new production facilities will allow the Croatian manufacturer of immunological drugs, which celebrates its 130th anniversary this year, to continue its life after 20 years of uncertainty. The location was donated a year ago by the municipality of Rugvica. The total area is 70,000 square meters. The competition is open for another month, until July 28.
