November 19. 2023 – It looks very much like we are going to have the tastiest Fuliranje ever!
Some Zagreb residents already have their favourite Advent places, and others want to explore them all, but everyone will tell you one thing: if you want to eat well on Zagreb’s famous Advent, you should go to Fuliranje.
This is not surprising when you know that the organiser, the creative agency Chicken or Egg, carefully selects the best and most creative talents of the gourmet scene every year. Since its beginnings in 2012, Fuliranje has been a strong discovery and growth platform for many chefs and restaurants, as well as for the gastronomy scene in Zagreb. Fuliranje has been recognised as the best Advent destination by the Zagreb Tourist Board and featured on CNN Travel as the most interesting Advent event in Zagreb two years in a row.
As challenging as it may be, it seems that this year’s Fuliranje will be one of the best yet.
Just to name a few of the dishes offered by 17 charming huts on Strossmayer Square, so beautifully situated between Zrinjvac and the ice skating rink on Tomislav Square.
From already famous dishes and Fuliranje’s all-time favourites such as Picnic’s Different Sarma and Traditional Skradin Risotto, Palfi’s Buncek Burger, to Full Circle’s Chicken Marinated in Yogurt and Beer, then dozens of sausage varieties from chefs Mate Jankovic and Damir Tomljanovic, gourmet burgers by Ivan Pažanin, juicy buns and crispy tempura from Izakaya, Black Slavonian pork burritos and breaded cannelloni with salted cod by Michelin star chef Deni Srdoc, to Beg’s Plant-Based novelties such as Burek Sarma and Dan-dan chicken with mlinci, unsurpassed festive delicacies from Boogie Lab, local specialities and Advent surprises from Good Food and Pizza Social Club, irresistible Briocherie treats, innovative offerings from Rougemarin and Bistro&Pizzeria Public – everyone will easily find a favourite dish or two in Fuliranje this year.
From November 29 to January 7, 2024, Josip Juraj Strossmayer Square will undoubtedly once again become the gourmet centre of Zagreb Advent. The photos we bring you will give you a glimpse of the rich selection of food that Fuliranje will offer this year.
As the perfect complement to all seasonal dishes, to toast with loved ones, to celebrate with friends and for the merriest festive mood, there will be the legendary Gingle Bells, whose signature cocktails have been unmatched for 12 years, and Rakijarnica with great selection of top quality Šoškić wines, sparkling wine, the best rakija and mulled wine, as well as Guinness, the official beer of the festival.
The festive atmosphere will be provided by no less than 13 DJs performing throughout the festival from Wednesday to Sunday, as well as free live concerts by Connect, Songkillers, the Queen tribute band and a secret special guest. The icing on the cake to end this year and welcome in the New Year will be the TBF concert.
The children will be entertained every Sunday by the performances of the children’s choirs and delighted to learn that Santa Claus resides in Fuliranje.
