July the 27th, 2025 – Zagreb is set to get a brand new cultural centre with an impressive array of facilities and content available to all.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, The City of Zagreb recently took over the contract to co-finance the transformation of Paromlin through the ITU mechanism. The move by the capital’s administration therefore formally confirmed the allocation of a massive 40 million euros in grants from the Integrated Territorial Programme 2021-2027 for the construction of a new Zagreb cultural centre.

The total investment value stands at 95 million euros including VAT. The project is currently progressing according to plan and is currently the largest and most demanding city construction site, of which there are many across the entire city of late. The new Zagreb cultural centre project includes the renovation of four historic buildings and the construction of two new facilities spanning a total area of 36 thousand square metres.

The final works on the foundations of the new building are currently underway, while the protected silo, one of the symbols of the famous Paromlin’s industrial heritage, is already taking on a new, updated look.

In addition to the future Zagreb cultural centre, this shiny new complex will include a city library with a capacity for more than half a million books, multimedia halls, music studios, a canteen, a public garage and plenty of other content and facilities available to all.
