CRANE representatives mingling with some heavyweights.
On the sidelines of the New York Tech Meetup, held in New York, the President of the Croatian Network of Business Angels CRANE Davorin Štetner had a short meeting with Minerve Tantoco, the New York City Chief Technology Officer. During their talk, Tantoco briefly presented the fastest growing technology ecosystem in the world and the opportunities for start-ups, reports ictbusiness.info on April 14, 2016.
The City of New York, it was said, fully supports high-quality technological startups in which CRANE had invested and will provide them with assistance in terms of logistics, visa system and other matters, through the Mayor’s Office for Technology and Innovation. They also discussed possible participation of the NYC representatives at the international conference EBAN WU 2016, which will be organized in November in Zagreb by CRANE.
Davorin Štetner and Damir Mujić, CRANE Managing Board member, have been invited to Tech Meetup by the Chairman of this prestigious event Andrew Rasiej. New York Tech Meetup is the biggest tech event in NYC, and it featured nine projects, most of which have already made over 100 million dollars. One interesting fact mentioned by Rasiej was that the tickets for the event – 500 tickets for 10 dollars each – were sold within a minute after they have been offered to visitors.
“In New York, things are happening really fast and this is why this place is the fastest growing technological ecosystem in the world. It is extremely important to establish contacts such as these, as it allows our startups an easier access to this market, which should be a target market for everyone. Ms. Tantoco immediately expressed her readiness to help us in the area of logistics. When something like that is offered by the New York’s first officer for technology, who reports directly to the mayor – there is no need to explain ‘the weight’ of the statement. I look forward to developing cooperation with the City of New York and its ecosystem. We need to learn from the most powerful!”, Davorin Štetner said.
