It is the weekend for round 31 of CFL, crucial clash for relegation will be played in Pula
After the week full of stories about Croatian players and their successes in foreign clubs, Croatian Football League is back, and we bring you the preview for all the matches on April 15, 2016.
Since the weather is supposed to be perfect for all games, maybe one can expect higher attendance on the stadiums this weekend. After all, Croatian Football Federation officials usually use the excuse of bad weather and infrastructure when explaining low attendance in CFL. We will know the answer on Sunday afternoon.
SPLIT – INTER – Split – Friday, 18.00 CET
Split needs a win here, as Lokomotiva has the three point advantage on the table in the battle for a Europa League qualification spot. The guests are entering the match relaxed, as they have secured a place in the middle of the league table.
ISTRA 1961 – OSIJEK – Pula – Friday, 20.00 CET
One to watch. This game is probably the last train for the home team to avoid relegation play-offs. Osijek would be content even with just one point here. Istra lost their last four matches, conceding nine goals, and have zero on their score sheet in the mentioned period.
Osijek played a few good games in recent rounds and is entering the match more relaxed, since, even if they lose here, they would still have enough advantage left to depend on their plays in the last five rounds.
LOKOMOTIVA – RIJEKA – Zagreb – Saturday, 15.00 CET
The derby of the round, Rijeka will want to stay close to Dinamo, and the home team battling for the Europa League spot. There is always that little extra for Lokomotiva team, as they would help their big brother club a lot if they remain unbeaten against Rijeka.
DINAMO – ZAGREB – Zagreb – Saturday, 19.00 CET
The best team in the league against the worst one. There’s always a chance of a surprise, but this would be a huge one.
SLAVEN BELUPO – HAJDUK – Koprivnica- Sunday, 15.00 CET
Slaven Belupo has been in great form in the last few weeks while Hajduk plays in an on/off mode from round to round. Coach Burić has announced that he is preparing the team for the next season already, and as the home team will concentrate on the Cup final in next month, all the results are possible in this match.
