While real income in agriculture is down in 15 EU countries, Croatia is set to record an increase of 21,5%
According to the first estimations published by Eurostat on December 15, 2015, real income in agriculture per worker in the EU has fallen 4,3% this year compared to the year before. Same statistics show that real income in agriculture per worker has increased in 13 countries and the highest increase is expected in Croatia, +21,5%.
Decrease in real income is recorded in 15 EU countries, largest drop is recorded in Germany (-37,6%) followed by Poland, Luxemburg, Denmark, Great Britain and Romania.
It is estimated that between 2010 and 2015 realistic agricultural income per worker dropped by 5,7% and Eurostat states that the decrease in income mostly relates to the drop in price of sugar beet, corn and milk. Price of milk dropped by 14,9%, sugar beets by 26%, corn by 24,5% while the price of pork also went down by 8,9%. At the same time, input costs in agriculture have increased by 2,4% in real terms.
