First phase investment will be complete by 2018 and generate 400 new jobs
IKEA Centres, part of the Global retail company IKEA Group, set forth a project worth 33 million Euros to build the first phase of the Designer Outlet Croatia complex, located next to IKEA warehouse in Zagreb. The largest outlet complex in Croatia will, in cooperation with IKEA Centers, be run by consultant company ROS Retail Outlet Shopping, renown Austrian designer outlet manager, reports Tportal.hr on May 31, 2016.
“We look forward to working with ROS Retail Outlet Shopping, an experienced European operator of innovative outlet store concepts. This cooperation is meant to offer to the local residents, as well as tourists and transit passengers a place of respite and a unique outlet shopping experience within reach of Zagreb with prices reduced up to 70%. We expect a plentiful assortment of fashion, sports and children’s brands, while interested leaseholders can already contact ROS Retail Outlet Shopping,” said Branko Mihajlov, project manager and head of Designer Outlet Croatia company.
The first project phase will encompass some 15.000 square meters, with over 400 new jobs, detailed in an announcement by IKEA. The investment is carried out jointly with Mutschler Outlet Holding AG, whom they partnered with in Designer Outlet Algarve.
Construction will begin in 2017 and end in 2018. The second phase will be 25.000 square meters in size, while the entire project with both phases is valued at 54 million Euros. Additional planed investments include a supermarket, gas station and two fast food chain stores. Total investments of IKEA Group in Croatia will thus rise to 188 million Euros.
