Zagreb is getting ready for a massive spectacle next week, and concert goers all over Croatia are patiently awaiting the arrival of South African group, Die Antwoord, to grace them with their presence.
Happening on June 13 at the Velesajam Zagreb, this South African trio will rock the music scene with provocative stage displays and adrenaline filled dancing. Their musical genre is hard to define, although it is best put into “rave rap”, having a place for them all their own.
Die Antwoord formed in 2008 in Cape Town by rappers Ninja and Yo-Landi Visser and DJ Hi-Tek. Their first album was released entirely online, and millions of international eyes followed with the release of their first single “Enter The Ninja”. From that moment on, it was obvious that Die Antwoord were not a force to be reckoned with, and they were bound to take on the world.
They have collaborated with everyone from Aphex Twin to Alexander Wang, and even turned down an offer from Lady Gaga to play with her on her South African tour.
Their lyrics are provocative, humorous, and even a bit morbid, but carry a strong message. Followed by a crowd of followers, Die Antwoord’s music and unconventional way of living has a hold on their fans.
Before this, Die Antwoord could only be seen in the neighborhood of the Exit and SCHENGENFEST. This will be their very own and very first Croatian performance.
Tickets are currently 170kn, and will raise to 200kn the day of the show. Show is at 8pm. Velesajam Zagreb is located at Avenija Dubrovnik 15.
