Even though Hajduk wants to keep as many players as possible, financial injection could make them change their mind
As reported by Dalmatinski portal on December 22, 2015, several European football clubs are “eyeing” Hajduk’s young player Andrija Balić and West Ham lead by former head coach of the Croatian national football team Slaven Bilić is one of them. Apparently, Slaven Bilić respects the young Hajduk star and he has been following him for a very early age since he’s used to play football with his son Leo.
Even though Hajduk is trying to keep its team together, it’s no secret they need money, and apparently West Ham is offering 5 million euro for Baliić, however it remains to be seen just how much West Ham is willing to pay at once. Hajduk already recieved several offers for Balić, Italian Udinese offered 3 million Euro, and a year ago Tottenham was offering 1,5 million which Hajduk rejected and Italian press was reporting Stuttgart was ready to offer 2,5 million Euros with 20% from any future transfers. Andrija has advanced and improved in the meantime, hence the increase in his “price”. Just before the start of the autumn part of the football season, Valencia was offering 5 million Euros however they never sent an official letter of intent so it seems this latest offer from West Ham is the only serious one in this whole story.
Now it remains to be seen whether Hajduk can afford not to sell him and finish the season with their complete team, but since we know director Brbić already announced that the club will not be able to buy any new players this winter, maybe this new financial injection will make them change their minds both in terms of possible sales and purchases.
