Milan Bandić believes he is the right person to lead Croatia.
Milan Bandić, the Mayor of Zagreb and president of the Bandić Milan 365 party, said on Friday that he would bring together a broad coalition for the forthcoming parliamentary elections which are expected in early September. He told citizens that, if they want to live better, they should “vote for Prime Minister Bandić”.
“I hope there will be a fair and democratic struggle in which the winner will be the one who receives the largest number of votes given by citizens. If people in Croatia want to experiment again, then they should vote for those who have already proven that they do not know what they are doing. If they want to live better, like people in Zagreb live, then they should vote for Bandić as the next Prime Minister”, said Bandić on Friday.
He humbly said that he did does not see a better person who could bring everybody together, who has a higher level of energy and vision, and more completed projects than Mayor Bandić. “The entire campaign will be devoted to Prime Minister Bandić. You may say that these are not elections for a prime minister but for members of Parliament. But, I ask you, who will elect the next Prime Minister? Therefore, everything is clear”, said Bandić.
Asked about his views on the situation in HDZ, Bandić said that candidates for the new HDZ president were still sleeping when he started working in the morning. “Croatia needs those who get up early and go to bed late. Croatia needs a major change, to have capable people in important positions. I think I can do it and I will gather a broad coalition. There will be surprises in the following days, you will see all the parties that will support me”, said Bandić, who in his presentation unsurprisingly did not mention any of the numerous legal proceedings which are currently being conducted against him in various courts.
