Once again, a bit of coastal atmosphere in the centre of Zagreb.
Just like last year, the Zagreb cultural scene during the summer will be enriched by the literary-entertainment festival “Sea of Books”, which is organized by the Lumen publishing house from 29 June to 6 July at the popular park Zrinjevac in the centre of the city. The park will be turned into a “beach” where visitors will be able to enjoy not just good books, but also good food and other entertaining possibilities, reports tportal.hr on June 29, 2016.
The 240 square metres of the Zrinjevac park will be covered by a sandy beach, deck chairs, parasols, and many books, while the experience of real seaside atmosphere will be enriched thanks to a gastronomic offer and ambience music.
Every day from 5 to 8 pm, there will be a Book & Cocktail Happy Hour, which will bring a touch of tropical atmosphere with cocktails named after the world’s bestsellers and books sold at special prices.
As part of the second edition of the “Sea of Books”, the Surf & Book Party will be held on Saturday evening, where many young artists will transfer their vision of reading and the world of books onto surf boards. In addition to reading on the “beach”, visitors will be able to decorate their notebooks and bags with fun, summery and literary motifs in the Lumen Creative Corner, while those braver will even be able to put special literary tattoos on themselves.
Organizers point out that the event has been launched with the aim of “increasing the interest in the magical world of books and reading, and showing the best of what books can offer, especially during the summer months”.
