Did you know that Hvar’s Mediterrean diet is officially part of UNESCO’s intangible heritage? Or that Hvar has a sardine trading tradition with the island of Lampedusa which dates back more than 150 years.
Sardines, wine, and a healthy diet are a cornerstone of life on Croatia’ premier island, and it is therefore perhaps natural that such things should be celebrated. And they shall be, in style, next week in Jelsa, Svirce, Vrboska and Stari Grad with the Festival of the Mediterranean Diet, which starts on Monday.
