The eighth solo exhibition called Prozori Hrvatske (Windows in Croatia), will be displayed by known photographer Biljana Gaurina. The exhibit will open on Wednesday, July 6, at 20h at the Le Méridien Lav in Split.
With this exhibition, the photographer emphasizes details in each window, each one with its own richness, diversity and tradition. Gaurina believes that windows are an excellent medium, stimulating the imagination of a person who wonders what happens in houses behind them, whereas ones who look through them already have a clear picture. Gaurina claims that windows are the curious eyes of every house, representing us to the characters as people.
The windows photographed are from the photographer’s travels from Ilok, Vukovar, Vinkovci, Đakovo, Varaždin, Čakovec, Zagreb, Ogulin, Pula, Poreč, and Dubrovnik – spanning over 4,000 kilometers.
Created for a sense of memory, this exhibit is a reminder to Croatians of all kinds to remember the beauty of your homeland, and always take the image of a window as a souvenir.
