It’s summer, it’s hot, and it’s no surprise that you’re thirsty and/or already drinking. Nothing seems to quench thirst better than a delicious cocktail after a long day out in the sun, and luckily we are here to introduce you to some of the best institutions in Split for all kinds of cocktails.
Torito Food Bar: Newly opened just a couple of months ago, Torito is not only known for their tapas and world class burger, but they have a stellar cocktail menu to boot. Try classics like their Pina Coladas, Bloody Mary’s, and Long Island Iced Tea’s or their new style cocktails like Smoked Negroni, Spiced Old Fashioned, New York Sour and Chocolate White Russian.

Sanctuary: The new tried and true craft cocktail bar in Split, Sanctuary’s menu boasts over 60 cocktails, from basic classic cocktails to traditional prohibition era cocktails (think of your Manhattan or Old Fashioned). On the other side of the menu, Sanctuary focuses on tropical drinks such as Pina Coladas, Zombies, and Hurricanes – essentially your favorite summer concoctions. Champagne cocktails are also popular like a classy French 75, and they also have the largest whiskey collection in Split. One of the best perks? Cocktails on their cocktail list are only 35kn!

Pun Kufer: Also new to the scene this year, Pun Kufer serves up eclectic and cheap cocktails (we mean 20kn cheap cocktails) and unique shooters (think infused with tabasco and ones that resemble brains). They even did a series of Game of Thrones cocktails such as their “Hear Me Roar!”, cocktail of House Lannister which includes grenadine, mango juice, rum, syrup of dates, and sugar. Side note: they even sell sandwiches + chips for 30kn when the drunk munchies start calling.

Black Dog: New to the Split bar scene is Black Dog, which has quickly become a favorite of both locals and tourists as meeting place and a hub for travelers to connect. Just around the corner from Split’s famous Green Market, Black Dog fuses authentic architecture with modern pub styles and offers local craft beers, quality cocktails and live music regularly.
Corto Maltese Freestyle Food: Aside from the freestyle food, epic decor that transports you into a rustic fairytale of comics and antiques, and unrivaled plate presentation, Corto Maltese has some damn good cocktails Their Honey Ginger Mojito is a fan favorite, made with brugal rum, lime, mint, honey, ginger, and soda. Their Harvey Wallbanger is crafted with Finlandia vodka, Galiano, and fresh squeezed orange juice, and their Spritz Me Rudy is made with chardonnay, lemongrass soda and campari. Let’s just say none of these cocktails are to be missed.

Mazzgoon: This uniquely hip restaurant serves up an even more unique twist on Mediterranean fare. One thing that is known to lure you in equally as much as their food are their cocktails, and we can see why. Mazzgoon serves up anything from a “Mishagroni”, their version of the classic Negroni with homemade gin infused with strawberries. You can also try fan favorites like Geraldine’s Ginger Fizz, a classic Side Car, or a Strawberry Balsamic Mojito.
