To continue the celebration for Stari Grad’s 2400 years of foundation, President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will visit the town today, September 9.
A patron to this unique, cultural event herself, President Grabar-Kitarović is scheduled to arrive in Stari Grad around 10:30h this morning. The President will be received by the Mayor of Stari Grad at the town’s city hall.
Shortly after her arrival, at 11h, President Grabar-Kitarović will take a walk along the waterfront (riva) and address the audience with the Mayor of Stari Grad and the Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County Mr. Zlatko Ževrnja.
After a walk to Trg Tvrdalj Petar Hektorović, the President will meet with the children of kindergartens. During the tour of the Petar Hektorovic residence, the primary school students will present a commemorative gift to the president.
Following the tour, the Mayor and Prefect will accompany the President to the newly built port of nautical tourism in the area of “Priko”.
At 12:30h, the President will visit the training ship MPPI “Queen of the Sea” (Kraljica mora), where she will meet with young scientists and lecturers about the international school of biophysics “Greta Pifat Mrzljak”.
