The official crowning of the image of Our Lady of Sinj was on September 22, 1716. The 300th anniversary and celebration of glory begins this weekend.

Shrine of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj – 17. 30 hours
Chaired by Fra Joko Kodzoman, Provincial of the Franciscan Province of the Most Holy Redeemer in Split
To open this 3-day spiritual preparation there will be a celebration of laying the first and solemn vows at Franciscan Province of the Most Holy Redeemer. At the end of the Mass, there will be a blessing with the Votive crown of Our Lady’s worshipers made to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the coronation of the image of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj (1716th to 2016th). Following will be the blessing of the painted windows in the cloister on “Canticle of Creatures” with sculptor Fr. Duje Botteri.

Shrine of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj and Our Lady Castle – 17.30h
Chaired by Don Ante Mateljan, a professor at the Catholic Theological Faculty in Split
The second day of spiritual preparation will begin with a Eucharistic celebration in the Church of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj at 17.30h. Eucharistic celebration will be chaired by Don Ante Mateljan. After Mass, there will be a prayer to Our Lady of the Cross Castle. At the end of the prayers of the Cross in the church of Our Lady, the memorial author Dr. Don Ante Mateljan will present the monograph “Way of the Cross in the City of Sinj.”

The Eucharistic celebration in Our Lady’s memorial church on the castle will be chaired by Fr. Ante Vuckovic, professor at the Catholic Theological Faculty in Split. After the Mass, until 24.00h there will be a prayer vigil at Our Lady’s Church in the town.

At 9.45h begins the celebration of the removal of the image of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj from the altar, with the procession following. The procession will move through the Pijaca, Glavička Street, Fratarski prolaz to the monastery yard where there will be a central Mass.
