How about a dinner which is designed for you, prepared by a top chef using the best local ingredients, in a completely unexpected, unusual location – sound good?
Meet Gypsy Table, the first Croatian thematic pop-up dinner.
The initial idea was to present the best Croatian culinary talents and the highest quality rank of domestic products. Gypsy Table has now turned into a project that has grown into an event that pampers all of the senses. Gypsy Table offers one-time culinary events that are organized at a different location each time, in different parts of Croatia – guests will first receive the menu and location 48 hours before the event. The first event was held just a few days ago in Dubrovnik by founders Richard Gruica, chef and founder of Captivating Croatia and Croatia Food Tour, along with Dubrovnik chef Damir Šarić.
“Pop-up dinners are one-time food events offering guests a taste of something different. These events cater to the “Experiential Diner”– one who craves not just an amazing meal, but a new and exciting dining experience. Whether it’s an unexpected location, a personal interaction with the chef, or a unique menu or theme, pop-up dinners serve up something no ordinary restaurant can deliver. Gypsy Table is the first roaming pop-up series in Croatia, so be sure to stay tuned for the latest events held all over the country,” states their website.
The unexpected location is coupled with exquisite delicacies made up of local produce, in cooperation with local producers, wineries, and craft beer halls amongst others. In addition, each Gypsy Table will have a humanitarian note, with part of the profits donated to local charities. The funds from the first Gypsy Table were donated to animal shelter Žarkovica.
