Good news for the water park near Brtonigla.
After a successful tourist season, the Istralandia Water Park near Brtonigla has repeated last year’s success at the most important European fair of tourist attractions (EAS 2016), held this year near Barcelona in Spain. In the competition of more than 300 European water parks, Istralandia was again named as the fifth best water park in Europe, reports Glas Istre on September 25, 2016.
The judges assessed quality and safety of attractions, quality of catering services, cleanliness and tidiness, landscaping, and friendliness of the staff. The international jury was composed of 34 members from twelve European countries. The “European Star Award 2016” was awarded at the PortAventura Park near Barcelona.
“There are over 300 water parks in Europe, and just in our immediate neighborhood, in Italy, there are more than a hundred such parks. However, the best-placed Italian water park was in sixth place, which just shows how important this success is”, said Branko Kovačić, owner of Istralandia, which closed its doors for the season on 14 September.
“Istralandia exists just three year, but this is our eleventh prize at local, regional, national and international level, which just proves that quality facilities and great dedication of the entire team can bring success, which benefits both the local community and the overall tourism industry”, said Kovačić.
The first prize this year went to Siam Park from Spain, which was opened in 2008 and is visited annually by 865,000 visitors.
