So what is really going on with the Tourist Palace in Split? Stipe Mađor, head of investor company “Valleus”, helps to give some insight.

After a 7 seven-month delay from the original opening date, Mađor claims that the building is awaiting technical inspection, which should be completed over the next month. The restored Tourist Palace should open its doors in early December, reports Slobodna Dalmacija.

After a change in the project which resulted in a change of the foundations, the total value of the project for the new Tourist Palace is around 17 million kuna, excluding VAT – which is about 4 million kuna more than the initial contract price.

Currently, on the construction site, parallel operations are being performed on the exterior and interior decoration of the palace – stone from Brač will occupy roughly 2,500 square meters of the outdoor space.

The offices are almost finished, claims Mađor, and all that is left is to put sockets and lighting where needed. In about 10 days, the building should be fully cleaned and ready for occupancy, after being informed that there should be no problems.

One thing that will change? The outside appearance of the Tourist Palace. Mađor announced that next week, aluminum installations with associated lighting will change the current facade, with outside fences made with stainless steel twists.

The top floor of the building, which will be accessed by three stairwells and an elevator, will be the main advantage of this new building. The upper floor will extend to over 1,400 square meters of which 100 square meters of the indoor space is reserved for a restaurant (which still does not have a tenant).

Mađor also noted that special attention was given to designer lighting and LED lighting fixtures, while the front terraces and associated street furniture will be unified in accordance with the space.

More offices and another restaurant for Split? We are looking forward to the completion of the project soon!
