‘The Constitution’ (Ustav Republike Hrvatske) by director Rajko Grlić has been awarded best film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in the United States.
Among the 31 films in the category of international feature films, ‘The Constitution’ won the ‘Jeffrey C. Barbakow Award – Best International Feature Film’, reports T.Portal on February 13, 2017. To make the win even sweeter, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival was also the US premiere for the Croatian film. Leona Paraminski – a Croatian theatre, film, and television actress with a US address – accepted the award on behalf of director Rajko Grlić.
Over the last 30 years, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival has become one of the leading film festivals in the United States. Over 11 days in February each year, the festival shows over 200 films and gathers as many as 90,000 visitors.
After being awarded best film in Santa Barbara, ‘The Constitution’ continues its successful festival series that began with the international premiere in Montreal in 2016 where the film won the prestigious Grand Prix of America. You can read more about ‘The Constitution’ on TCN here.
‘The Constitution’ stars Nebojša Glogovac, Ksenija Marinković, Dejan Aćimović and Božidar Smiljanić. The script was written by Ante Tomić and Rajko Grlić.
