The Breitling DC – 3, a legendary airplane from the 1940s, started its 77th birthday celebration by landing in Zagreb Airport earlier today.
The two-engine aircraft revolutionized airtravel in 1935 and was used by American military for Normandy landings during WWII. It was made even more famous by Daniel Craig, who flew it in 2008 as James Bond in Quantum of Solace.

More than 16,000 were built, but today there are less than 150 DC-3 aircraft left. This particular plane was restored by a group of dedicated enthusiasts and it now flies under Breitling colours and participates in a variety of airshows.
The birthday celebration starts and ends in Switzerland, starting from Geneva in March and winding up in September at the Breitling Sion Airshow 2017. Zagreb was its first stop.
A 500-piece limited edition of its Navitimer aviation chronograph, also worn by Sean Connery in 1965 as James Bond in Thunderball, was introduced to mark the big celebration. Its next stop is Athens, on March 12.
