More recognition for an already eco-friendly business…
The Lošinj company Jadranka hotels is now owner of the prestigious ISO 50001 certification for Energy Management, reports HRTurizam on March 10, 2017.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations. The organization promotes worldwide proprietary, industrial and commercial standards. Because using energy efficiently helps organizations save money while conserving resources and tackling climate change, the ISO 50001 certificate supports organizations across all sectors to use energy more efficiently, through the development of an energy management system (EnMS).
The ISO 50001 certificate is further confirmation and recognition for the active efforts by the Jadranka Group and the members of Jadranka hotels to improve the existing system of sustainable operations while reducing energy consumption. Being awarded this certificate positions the group as an environmental leader in Croatia. It is estimated that the 50001 affects about 60% of the world’s use of energy, and the goal is to establish a standard system that will result in improved energy efficiency in order to ultimately reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
“The ISO 50001 certificate for the management of energy efficiency is consistent with the implementation of the long-term plan for Jadranka hotels which is reflected in the strategic plans and business components of all members in the group in order to improve service and guest satisfaction. Integrating the strategy of green business practices while successfully building on the mission and vision of the group is a key factor in the promotion of quality tourism in Lošinj. The island itself is a natural oasis with healing properties beneficial to all residents, and the number of guests coming to Lošinj year after year is increasing,” said the board of the Jadranka group.
The Jadranka Group is also the proud holder of the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System and ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management System. In addition, the hotel brand Lošinj Hotels & Villas has ranked in the top for green hotel industries in Croatia thanks to the “Sustainable Hotel” certificate.
