The famous guitar virtuoso and one of Zagreb audience’s favourite artists, Tommy Emmanuel, will perform in Zagreb Student Centre theatre on March 22.
This will be Emmanuel’s seventh concert in Zagreb, eight years after his last concert here. The concert is part of the “It’s Never Too Late” tour, during which he will promote his last album of the same name.
The famous guitarist has won numerous awards during his four-decade career. Emmanuel is famous for the special technique of playing with all ten fingers, he is the holder of the Certified Guitar Player title, one of the largest awards in the guitar world, making him one of only five musicians to receive the C.G.P. distinction.
Each of his concerts is a unique experience because Emmanuel avoids repetition, uses improvisation and accepts imperfections as an integral part of his performance. He is an inspiration to young musicians and a fan favourite because of his unique sense of rhythm, brilliant acoustic guitar playing technique and temperamental performances.
An accomplished fingerstyle player, Emmanuel frequently threads three different parts simultaneously into his material, operating as a one-man band who handles the melody, the supporting chords and the bass all at once.
He is the most successful Australian instrumental musician, with four platinum and three golden records.
