This mobile game designed in Croatia made it to the top 10 in just 5 days
Just 5 days after it first appeared on Google Play, game „Arrow Science“ created by Zadar trio „Bad Pixels“, made it to No. 12 on the most popular download platform for Android systems.
„Bad Pixels“ was created by three friends from Zadar, high-schooler Krševan Štorić, student Ante Buterin and a professional graphic designer Mladen Košta who is also the owner of the company. „arrow Science is their first joint project, and considering their average rating is 4,8 out of 5, we can say their first try was more than successful.
„Well, it certainly isn’t bad“ Buterin commented. „We were all in shock when we realised the game made it to the Top 20 in the world. I’ve been a gamer my whole life and even though I’ve been programming for years, the idea or this mobile phone game came to me last summer“ says this 20-year-old student currently studying in Zagreb.
He teamed up with Krševan, who is a self-taught programmer and Mladen, web designer and the only professional among them and the game became available on Google Play on January 24.
So, what sets this game apart and what made it so popular in such a short period of time? „It’s challenging and that’s what attracted users. It has 50 levels and the aim is to shoot your arrows through holes, apples, rings and each new level is more complex than the last. It takes a lot of skill and concentration since you don’t have many arrows. Furthermore, our design is a bit atypical for these sort of games because our main character looks more like a businessman with a shirt and suit pants than the Robin Hood type – Buterin commented.
Even though their game was just released, these young men are not sitting still. Arrow Science was just a warm up session, and if everything goes according to plan, they will have a new product out by summer. It will be another game, but, this time, lads from Zadar are going to try and conquer the mass market: „It will be a multi-player game in which you’ll be able to connect with other players across the globe. It’s an ambitious project and we expect great things from it“.
