Croatia Airlines and Air India have signed a commercial codeshare agreement to use shared codes for flights on both carriers.
According to the initial agreement, the international designation of Air India (AI) will be published on Croatia Airlines flights from Frankfurt to Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Split (vice versa), from London to Zagreb and Split (vice versa), from Vienna to Zagreb and Split (vice versa), from Rome to Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Split (vice versa), and from Paris to Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Split (vice versa). Based on reciprocity, Croatia Airlines (OU) will be published on Air India flights from Frankfurt, London, Vienna, Rome and Paris to New Delhi (vice versa), and from London to Mumbai (vice versa), reports Poslovni.hr on March 27, 2017.
Cooperation begins on April 1, 2017, on Croatia Airlines flights from Frankfurt, Paris, and Rome to Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Split, and from London and Vienna to Zagreb and Split. With the introduction of these common codeshare flights (OU /AI), Croatia Airlines and Air India have become the first and only air carriers from their countries that will provide air transport services between Croatia and India.

As part of the agreement, Croatia Airlines, as a European regional airline, will have the opportunity to strengthen their position in the large and fast-growing Indian market. I believe that the passengers from Croatia and India will recognize the value of our joint product and will have an even better selection for travel,” said Krešimir Kučko, CEO of Croatia Airlines.
“Air India is honored by the fact that Croatia Airlines, a member of Star Alliance, is a partner in the agreement on common designations. This partnership will enable Air India to reach destinations in Croatia and we look forward to the expansion of our relationship with Croatia Airlines in the future. The partnership will contribute to the further development of trade, tourism and cultural ties between India and Croatia,” said Seema Srivastava, executive director of Air India for strategy and planning. Both companies are members of the Star Alliance – Croatia Airlines became a member in November 2004, while Air India became a member in July 2014.
This partnership will further expand the network and improve connectivity of flights for both air carriers and passengers, offering exciting possibilities for travel and an even greater choice of flights between Croatia and India. In addition, passengers will have shorter connections on flights, while passengers will also be offered improved travel experiences with a greater choice of flights at competitive prices.
