The largest photo festival in Southeast Europe is celebrating its 10th anniversary: Rovinj photodays, a well-known manifestation taking place in one of the most photogenic towns in Istria, will be held on May 5th and 6th 2017.
This year’s international competition was open to all photographers from January 31st 2017. More than 600 photographers from 27 countries sent in their work, resulting with a total of 8600 photographs to be considered by the judging panel.
The selection process was carried out in two rounds: national selectors and festival advisers have decided on the preselection, then sent the preliminary assortment to the head selector Willie Osterman who chose 21 finalists. Four of them are from Croatia, four from Serbia, three from Bosnia and Herzegovina, two from Italy, Macedonia and Slovenia, and the remaining four are coming from Spain, Sweden and the UK.
The contest was divided into seven themed categories: Architecture, Fashion, Portrait, Landscape, Nude/body, Documentary, and Art concept. Winning work can be seen at the Civic Museum of Rovinj (Zavičajni muzej grada Rovinja) where the exhibition will remain on display until May 23rd 2017.

The grand finale of the festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 6th at 9.15 PM, when the seven category winners will be presented with awards. Osterman will also declare the winner of the Grand Prix Award.
