Trsteno Arboretum is always worth the visit, but when you have a professionally guided tour completely free of charge, the pleasure is doubled. On Wednesday May 10, the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts is hosting its sixth annual Open Days, an event during which the most important scientific, cultural and artistic institutions in Croatia present their diverse activities and rich heritage collected throughout their 156 years of existence. Since the Trsteno Arboretum is under the patronage of Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, a special event will be held at the Arboretum where the employees will offer the guided tours to the visitors from noon to 13:00.
The presentation will include a tour of the Arboretum and a lecture on the importance of the legal protection of the cultural and historical heritage. The professionals will present the floristic and vegetative qualities that the Arboretum is known for with a special emphasis on the oldest plant specimens. The participants will also have an opportunity to get acquainted with the reconstruction process of the old olive groves and the process of preserving the old autochthonous olive trees.
