It’s getting hard to keep track of all the festivals that are currently going on around town, but when it comes to location, some are more memorable than others. ZG Wine & Food, the latest addition to the festival offer that started last night, has a tag line saying festival with a view – and what a view it is!
Located at Gradec plateau in the Upper Town, the gastronomic festival overlooks the centre of Zagreb with the cathedral as a central feature of the panorama.
During 17 days of Zg Wine & Food, the best restaurants in Zagreb will present their menus, accompanied by top-quality winemakers from Croatia and abroad. As part of the main manifestation, Gradec will also host Zagreb Bubbles, the festival of local and foreign sparkling wines, thus becoming a serious event where gastronomy lovers can enjoy great food and fine wine in an urban, sophisticated ambiance.
The festival has an outstanding music programme that will bring live shows to Gradec, some of the performances taking place in the atrium of the adjoining Klovićevi dvori Gallery. Today, 27 May, the festival is taking on a Cuban note with the popular local band Cubismo coming to liven up the atmosphere on Gradec. Here’s a preview:
