Zagreb will be home to the 4th edition of Olympics-style competition bringing together Croatian communities from around the world
More than 900 Croats from around the world will gather in Zagreb July 18 – 22 to participate in Croatian World Games, organised by the Central State Office for Croatians Outside the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian World Congress, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar Kitarović.
This is the 4th edition of the amateur competition thah brings together young second-generation Croats from the Diaspora in Croatia under the motto “One Heart, One Croatia.”
The competition will include competitors from countries such as Angola, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bolivia, Brazil, Montenegro, Chile, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Croatia, Italy, Ireland, Canada, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Germany, Paraguay, Peru, Romania, the USA, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Sweden, Tanzania, Great Britain and Venezuela, as well as around 150 from Croatia, who will compete in 16 sporting disciplines.

The event is aimed at promoting Croatian tourism worldwide, building stronger ties between Croats in Croatia and abroad, strengthening economic relationships, promoting sports and healthy living, and it serves as an incentive for younger generations of immigrants to visit Croatia and learn more about the Croatian language and culture.
The first and the second Games were held in Zadar in 2006 and 2010, and the third Games were held in Zagreb in 2014. In the 2010 Games, there were 2,500 participants from 24 countries, competing in 12 events. Sports categories include: archery, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, cycling, equestrian, football, gymnastics, handball, judo, shooting, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, and wrestling.
