Good news for hard-working employees of Croatia’s public services.
On Thursday, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said that the latest loans taken out by the state were approved under excellent conditions and that political stability had a direct reflection on financial stability. He also announced a payment of 1,250 kunas for each civil servant and employee in state and public services, reports Poslovni.hr on 6 July 2017.
The Ministry of Finance issued on Wednesday at the local capital markets bonds with the maturity in 2032, in the total nominal amount of three billion kunas, with an interest rate of 3.25 percent and a yield of 3.30 percent.
“These are excellent conditions. Bonds have been bought by pension funds and insurance companies. There was particularly high interest among insurance companies,” said Plenković at the beginning of the government session, apparently happy that the state has taken out another loan.
He added that it was another move that showed that “the message of political stability has its direct and specific reflections on financial stability and on the issuance of bonds by the Ministry of Finance.”
The Prime Minister also announced that the government would this year pay holiday bonuses to all civil servants and employees in the state and public services in the amount of 1.250 kunas per person.
“These holiday bonuses will be paid starting from 14 July this year,” said Plenković, thanking the Ministry of Finance for having managed to find the necessary funds by redistributing some other items in the budget.
