The two capitals have been sister cities since 1977
To mark the 40 years of signing the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between Zagreb and Lisbon on July 11, 1977, Mayors of Zagreb and Lisbon, Mr Fernando Medina and Mr Milan Bandić, are going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in Lisbon’s City Hall on July 11, 2017.
This means that the cooperation between the two cities will grow stronger, especially in the fields of economy, innovations, urbanism, culture, and tourism.
Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in front of Teatro Nacional de São Carlos (National Theatre of Saint Charles) in Lisbon on the same evening, and the cultural and artistic exchange will continue with a Fado concert in Vatroslav Lisinski Hall on November 15, and a photo exhibition by the City of Zagreb Museum and Vatroslav Kuliš guest exhibitions at Museu Nacional dos Coches (National Coach Museum) in Lisbon, November 24 – 30, 2017.
