Nikola Karabatic, Croatian-born, French Handball player gets his burger fix in Hvar town!
I have no problem admitting I am a bit of a foodie, after years working in Michelin-Starred restaurants, it is no secret that I am always keeping an eye out on the latest gastronomy trends in Croatia – which, to my delight, are improving year after year.
However, while I love a fine dining experience or sampling new gastronomic treats, sometimes you just feel like something easy, and a burger is always my go-to – and, it seems like I am not the only one.
Two weeks ago, I was hostessing a private tour with some very elite clientele. They had spent weeks travelling and dining in some of the best restaurants around the world, so we had something similar planned for them in Hvar. That was until they turned to us and said – “you know what, we want something easy, we are over all of this fancy food, we just want a burger!” So, off to W Burger & Steak House we went.
W Burger has a great location, directly in front of St. Stephen’s cathedral in the main square of Hvar, so it is hard to miss. They have a great selection of burgers and sides – like fries and onion rings, along with salad and pasta options. The service is fast, friendly and efficient – all you need in a burger joint.
My clients were satisfied, so it was a win.
A week later Nikola Karabatic the Croatian born, French handball player and Olympian had the same idea while he was in Hvar – and I am not surprised.
If it is good enough for an Olympian, it is good enough for us!!
