Uber faces more protests from taxi drivers, this time in the Dubrovnik region.
As DuList reports on the 28th of July, 2017, Duboka Ljuta, part of the Adriatic highway from Dubrovnik to Konavle, was blocked by taxi drivers in protest of Uber.
Warnings to be patient when on the way to Dubrovnik Airport (Cilipi) have been issued.
”Dubrovnik taxi drivers aren’t organising any protest, but Uber and the dysfunctional legal system in the Republic of Croatia!” Božo Miletić told DuList.
”We’ve been fighting for two years, and they’re all deaf, they don’t care for us. And we fill the budgets from which they get their salaries! We have to fight, there’s no other way. After the last spontaneous protest in Zagreb two months ago, we asked for the law to be the same for everyone. As this did not happen, I personally expressed my dissatisfaction and I stopped my vehicle. I don’t know what other people did. They were probably driving people to the airport and they saw me and joined” Miletić explained.
He added that the spontaneous ”protest” would last for a while.
“When I decide to go, I will go, and for other drivers, I don’t know.” Miletić concluded.
