Could direct flights between Dubrovnik and South Korea be on the cards?
As Dubrovnik Press Portal reports on the 9th of September, 2017, Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić, Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković and their associates received a delegation from the Republic of Korea in the Pearl of the Adriatic.
At the beginning of the meeting, Nikola Dobroslavić got his Korean guests acquainted with the natural and cultural sights of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, emphasising that Dubrovnik’s most important economic branch, tourism, is based on the area’s beautiful nature, rich cultural heritage and spotlessly clean sea.
“I’m glad that a large number of tourists from Korea visit our county and that is exactly the motive to connect us even better with direct flights” stated the Prefect, adding that Dubrovnik-Neretva County was open for investment and cooperation with Korean businessmen.
”Dubrovnik has always been a cradle of diplomacy and hosts numerous delegations, so we also welcome you with great pleasure,” Mato Franković told the Korean delegation.
He noted that 30 thousand tourists from the Republic of Korea visited Dubrovnik last year, and as the number is steadily rising, he expressed hope that the two countries will establish direct line in order to continue such a positive trend.
”We’d also like to see a greater number of Croatians visiting our country and establishing more concrete cooperation [between our two nations], especially in terms of trade exchange and investment. The Air Transport Agreement between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Korea has been signed, which will surely contribute to a stronger link between our two countries,” stated the Vice-President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
In order to strengthen cooperation, the signing of a co-operation agreement at the City or County level which would further strengthen the realisation of certain projects was proposed by the Koreans.
