Andrej Plenković: We’ve Done a Lot for Vukovar in a Year”

Plenković says a lot has been done for Vukovar in just one year, and he aims to continue on that way.

As RTL Vijesti writes on the 18th of November, 2017, Prime Minister Plenković has stated that a number of positive decisions have been made for Vukovar. He referred to new facilities and that the opening of swimming pools in Vukovar will be followed by the opening of the Archives.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković told reporters in Vukovar on the 18th of November, 2017, the 26th anniversary since the town fell to Serbian aggression, that since last year, since the session of the government in Vukovar, a lot has been done, referring to new developments and more money for Vukovar.

He reminded journalists that last year, at the government session held in Vukovar, he made a number of concrete conclusions and suggestions to improve the quality and the overall standard of living for Vukovar’s residents.

“Vukovar is extremely important to the government, my communication with Mayor Penava is practically constant, we talk every two to three weeks, we coordinate our activities and I believe that the range of measures that we’ll make in the mandate of this government will enable people to stay in Vukovar as well as [advocate for] the return of a certain number of people to the city,” he said.

He added that the recent presentation showed that Vukovar has a significantly smaller population than it had before 1991.

“For us, Vukovar is extremely important and we’ll show that through our work throughout the years ahead of us,” noted Plenković.
