According to data from eVisitor which contains tourist traffic realized in commercial and non-commercial facilities, the Sinj Tourist Board provides a review of the tourist results for the areas of Sinj and Dicmo, Hrvace and Otok.
Based on data from the eVisitor system, the Sinj Tourist Board reports that the area of Sinj and Dicmo, Hrvace, and Otok, from 1 January to 31 December 2017, recorded the following tourist traffic.
In 64 accommodation facilities (1 hotel and 63 private accommodation facilities including apartments, villas and holiday homes) there were 13,659 guests, who realized 34,820 commercial overnights. Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of 22.17% in arrivals and 28.75% in overnight stays.
The largest number of arrivals and overnight stays was realized in the city of Sinj, who recorded 12,090 arrivals and a total of 23,473 overnight stays. According to the structure of the guests, the most significant number of overnight stays were made by domestic guests, and foreign guests mostly came from Germany, followed by Romania, Korea, Greece, Poland, France, Austria, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
In the Dicmo Municipality, there were 892 arrivals and 7,551 overnight stays, in the Hrvace municipality there were 625 arrivals and 3,286 overnight visits, and Otok saw 52 arrivals and 510 overnight stays.
From these data, the guests in the area of Sinj stayed an average of two days, while the holiday homes in Sinj, Dicmo, Hrvace, and Otok saw guests remain on average seven days.
These data are in favor of well-prepared arrangements, marketing activities, and quality tourist offers. The trend of increasing arrivals and overnight stays has contributed to the cooperation of all the stakeholders in tourism who, following the trends of supply and demand, as well as the habits of guests who are increasingly looking to explore the destination they are visiting (being familiar with its tradition and everything it can provide), present an authentic, unique tourism product.
In 2017, Sinj, Dicmo, Hrvace, and Otok had 64 accommodation units with a total of 519 permanent beds, representing an increase of 78%. We should also note an increase in the opening of new accommodation facilities. Thus, in the area of Sinj there were 15 new facilities, five in Hrvace, seven in Dicmo and one accommodation facility in Otok that opened this year.
In addition to the aforementioned data on arrivals and overnight stays, in the area of Sinj, we must also highlight the impressive figures of daily arrivals of guests. The number of measurable daily arrivals is highlighted during the feast of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj which saw over 100,000 pilgrims, and the Sinjska Alka Museum, which recorded more than 55,000 visitors.
Forecasts for 2018 are also optimistic because the results of 2017 confirm that Croatia is one of the most popular destinations in the world tourist market, and according to the announcements, this trend continues on both the national and local level.
