Croatia’s new national team kits are here…
The Croatian Football Federation and Nike have officially presented the new Croatian national football team kits to be worn at the FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer. The new outfit will premiere this Friday in Miami, Florida where the Croatian national team will play a preliminary match against Peru, reports HNS on March 21, 2018.
The recognizable home kit, boasting the classic red-and-white colors, differs significantly from the reserve kit which is dominated by dark blue and black.

Sporting giant Nike continued with the tradition of attractive design and superior quality, commented Croatia captain Luka Modrić:
“Every Croatian player is proud to wear one of the most beautiful and recognizable jerseys in the world. I like the big red and white checks because it reflects our ambition and potential. For the first time in my career, I will lead the Croatian national team as captain of the World Cup and this jersey will be of the utmost importance to me.”
The recognizable checks are an indispensable element on the first and reserve kit and symbolize national pride:
“The checks are bigger than ever, even two to three times in comparison to the previous ones, and they reflect dignity and beauty, the pride of every player on the field,” says Pete Hoppins, the senior creative director at Nike Football. “In addition to excellence in football, Croatia has one of the most visually appealing teams in the world today,” Hoppins added, before concluding: “Croatians are extremely proud of their legacy, which is manifested through these checkerboards, inspired by the Croatian flag.”
Through the last 17 years of the partnership between Nike and HNS, the Croatian national team has played in three World and four European championships. Davor Šuker, the president of the Croatian Football Federation and key player of the ‘Bronze Generation’ of Croatian football, said: “The magic of football is that a small nation can win big.”
Nike’s Vaporknit technology makes the jerseys light and airy so that the players can move without any interference. The jerseys are made from the same material as t-shirts and do not have seams, and thus eliminate any additional obstructions while allowing players to perform better on the pitch.
The new Croatian national team kits will be available for sale on March 29, 2018, at nike.com and selected stores.
