A press conference was held within the fairgrounds on the Western Quay in Split harbor, announcing the 20th jubilee edition of the Croatia Boat Show, taking place from 11 to 15 April

Media representatives were addressed by fair director Vicenco Blagaić, Deputy Mayor of Split Nino Vela and Darko Šupuk, editor of the Yachts Croatia magazine.

Vicenco Blagaić pointed out the fair surface area will be twice as large as last year and will host at least 150 vessels with a multitude of Croatian premieres, also twice as numerous as in the previous edition.

“After a peak in the 2000s, when we were the sixth fair in the world, came a fall which was finally stopped last year. Today we truly can feel the market growing and we will have nothing to be ashamed of, Split is slowly returning to the global nautical map,” said Vicenco Blagaić.

He added this year’s fair will sport completely new pontoons and exhibitor tents, while the ferry moored along the Western Quay will host the Yacht Club, a space of 800 square meters with daily music and other entertainment programs, while visitors will also be able to enjoy gastronomy delicacies made by the foremost Croatian chefs.

The new strategic partner of the fair was also presented, the Navis Marine company, Croatian agent for prestigious shipyards Azimut, Benetti, Pirelli, Capelli and Cantieri Mimi. Attendance at the 20th Croatia Boat Show was also confirmed by Paolo Vitellim, owner of the Azimut Benetti group, dubbed the king of the nautical world.

Deputy Mayor of Split Nino Vela commended the organizers for managing to maintain the fair for two decades and keep it in Split.

“This is an event of importance to the city, attracting a specialized audience but also many tourists. We support its long term development,” said Nino Vela.

Journalists were also spoken to by Darko Šupuk, editor of the Yachts Croatia magazine, who announced the Yachts Parade, an evening parade of the best vessels on show, scheduled for Saturday, April 14.
