Applications are being received until the 26th of April, 2018.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 12th of April, 2018, the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) has announced a tender for the selection of seven directors of Croatian tourism representation in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary, Slovakia and far away China.
“We’re expecting that high-quality professionals with creative and interesting work program proposals will announce themselves at the tender. Among the tenders is the one for the director of the future office in Shanghai, where we’re opening our office for the first time within the premises of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. Our goal is to create an even better position for our country on the large and significant Chinese market. As a tourist destination, Croatia is well recognised among our traditional European travellers, and our main long-term goal, with the preservation of this status, is the opening of new and distant markets where we have great potential for further growth and development,” said the Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić.
For the purpose of the contest, the HTZ Tourism Council has established the commission for the evaluation of received candidatures.
Barbara Mesić was appointed as President of the Commission, the chief advisor to the Minister of Tourism, and the members of the Commission are comprised of representatives of HTZ’s Tourism Council, Boris Žgomba, Tomislav Fain and Marcel Medak, and Professor Dragan Magaš, who is a member as an external associate. At the end of the deadline, the aforementioned commission will evaluate the applications received, conduct interviews with the selected candidates, and inform the Tourist Council, to whom they will propose their nominations.
“These are very attraction work positions. We’re expecting that the number of applications will be high because greater competition implies the selection of the most professional and most competent experts which we certainly desire. The representatives of HTZ’s offices in many countries are focused primarily on promotional activities and the positioning of our country on the foreign market, as a result of synergy with the HTZ Main Office and the Ministry of Tourism,” stated Barbara Mesić, the chief advisor to the Minister of Tourism.
Candidates must, amongst other things, have completed at least a specialist graduate or graduate university study, have at least three years of work experience in tourism and/or marketing, actively know one language, with knowledge of one other second world language, know the tourist market to which they’re applying, and provide a proposal for their work program for the next calendar year. Applications and proof of fulfillment of the terms and CVs of the candidates shall be submitted no later than 15 days after the publication of the tender in Narodne Novine, ending on the 26th of April, 2018.
