From Soulwax’s very beginnings when they released the album “Much Against Everyone’s Advice”, a top 40 hit in the UK that also gained great success in Japan and Australia, the duo made their debut in major world tours. The brothers then started DJing under the names ‘The Flying Dewaele Brothers and ‘2manyDJs, winning the hearts of clubs and radio stations worldwide and thus creating history. The album “As Heard on Radio Soulwax Part 2” by 2ManyDJs was named the best album of 2002 by the New York Times and was recognized for changing music compilations forever. The debut album is owed to world-fame by a combination of rock, electro, dance, hip-hop music and unmistakable genres, combining up to 45 different songs with incredible medleys of Dolly Parton and Röyksopp or The Stooges and Salt’n’Pepa. They succeeded in bringing the club atmosphere into the homes of listeners and became an indispensable part of every good party.

Thanks to their impressive sets, the Dewaele brothers’ work includes albums, remixes, and Radio Soulwax, a radio application that broadcasts mixes accompanied by covert visuals – resulting in an uninterrupted oasis that covers everything from disco to punk rock. The Dewaele’s brothers did it all, from the radio shows where they introduced their mixes in the late 90s, to the brilliant DEEWEE label where they secretly reveal new music, and the sophisticated ‘Despacio’ sound system they designed with James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem. The two are also behind a live project with drummers, including Igor Cavalera, and even the new band ‘Die Verboten’ which is just one in a series of alter egos. And let’s not forget about Waffles, where they publish songs you’ve probably never heard of – this even included a sampling of Zdenko Kovačiček and “Elektra”. Stephen and David have remixed their “Any Minute Now” album and created “Nite Versions” to redefine the concept of club music – and they also crafted the soundtrack to the film ‘Belgica’ which details the creation of 15 imaginary bands, each with their own unique sound.

Their long list of top remixes ranges from LCD Soundsystem and Daft Punk to the Gorillaz, Gossip, Robbie Williams, Klaxons, Tame Impala, Warpaint, Hot Chip and MGMT. By avoiding all genre classifications, 2ManyDJs indeed offers an unforgettable breakthrough with their music selection, and the duo cleverly connects the incompatible and succeeds each time. One of the hottest and most sought after in music today, 2ManyDJs are always on tour, either as a band or electronic project, and bring their eclectic performances to millions of people, as headliners of the world’s largest festivals or organizers of their own events.
2ManyDJs are the perfect dance floor armor that has raised club generations, and the opportunity to see their pure energy and art will take place in Zagreb at Tvornica Culture this May.
