The words of support are coming in from all sides.
As Croatia prepares for the final showdown against France today, numerous messages of support have poured in from all sides and General Ante Gotovina is yet another to send a message of support.
As Index writes on the 15th of July, 2018, Gotovina sent a heartfelt message to Zlatko Dalić and Croatia’s team set to play a historic match in Moscow against the French in the World Cup final.
We bring you Gotovina’s message in full:
Dear Zlatko,
After morning Mass, I felt the need to reach out to you, the boys, and to the staff who’re taking care of you, which arouses gratitude. With a sense of pride and joy, you have united Croats in the homeland and around the world. Dear friends, your path to the World Cup final is a magnificent spectacle – a demonstration of footballing skill and above all, the size of humanity – togetherness, modesty in victory and solid character. You’re writing the history of world football – with God’s grace, a little bit of sporting luck, we believe in victory. You can do it, you deserve it.
