August 2, 2018 — Croatia international Šime Vrsaljko caps a superb summer with a return to Serie A, joining Inter Milan on a loan from Atletico Mardrid.
The right-back’s full-season loan to Inter reportedly includes an option for a full transfer, for a reported fee of around 24 million Euros.
Vrsaljko will join two other teammates who played alongside him in the World Cup final in Moscow, Ivan Perišić and Marcelo Brozović. The Zadar native will wear his favored No. 2 on his kit.
“I already have experience in Italy, after my spells at Genoa and Sassuolo, I’m ready for my adventure with Inter,” he said in a press release. “With Perisic and Brozovic, we spoke a lot about Inter but it was my decision. I wanted to come back to Italy and to come to Inter.”
The 26-year-old will return to Italy after spending 2013 to 2016 at Genoa and Sassuolo.
Vrsaljko, a Zadar native, may not be the only Croatian to be joining Inter, according to transfer rumors. If true, the club might as well just change its name to Croatian Milan.
