ZAGREB, August 11, 2018 – The Croatian Journalists Association (HND) said on Friday that statements which Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić made when addressing Nova TV reporter Ivana Pezo Moskaljov were inappropriate and could not be tolerated, calling on public figures and politicians to stop insulting and attacking reporters whose job is to ask questions that are of public interest.
“The Croatian Journalists’ Association (HND) condemns in the strongest terms the inappropriate behaviour of Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić who, instead of answering reporter Ivana Pezo Moskoljov’s question, responded by scandalous, arrogant and sexist insults,” the HND said in a press release.
Answering to the reporter’s question, Bandić said “If I were as smart as you, I’d be working at Nova TV. To me you are like a mean teacher. Why don’t you be a fine lady.”
