The newly-reconstructed venue can accommodate up to 2,200 visitors.
The reconstructed premises of the Culture Factory (Tvornica Kulture) in Zagreb will open their doors and start a new concert season on Friday, September 21. The new, enhanced and enlarged Factory will be able to receive up to 2,200 visitors, making it the largest concert hall in Croatia, reports Jutarnji List on September 15, 2018.
Immediately after the end of the final concert in spring, a months-long reconstruction process of the club located in Šubićeva Street started. Three months later, works in both concert halls are coming to an end – the Large and the Small Plant – in order to make them ready for two-day opening ceremonies.
The idea behind the Factory transformation was to create a space that will work equally well for concerts, parties, performances, festivals and various cultural events, a space that can be easily and quickly transformed and adapted to all needs.
The Large Plant will offer the option of adapting its size, making it possible to accommodate concerts and events from 300 to 2,200 visitors. The only venues in Croatia with the capacity larger than the Factory will be several of the halls which are primarily sports facilities. The Small Plant has also seen modifications, but it has retained the capacity for up to 300 people.
A number of architectural changes have been made in the entire venue in order to enlarge the cloakroom area, bars and the backstage area, and the lighting and sound systems on both stages have also been upgraded.
The new Large Plant will first be tested by two well-known representatives of the Croatian music scene, who will perform during the two-day opening ceremonies. On Friday, September 21, Neno Belan and Fiumenes will perform the songs of his former Đavoli band. On Saturday, the stage of the largest concert hall in Croatia will welcome Let 3, which will be their first full-length “factory” concert after six years.
