ZAGREB, February 6, 2018 – The Zagreb Soloists chamber orchestra, founded in 1953, last weekend held a concert at Versailles as part of the prestigious music event Chateau de Versailles Spectacles, thus paying tribute to its beginnings under the artistic leadership of its founder and renowned Italian cellist Antonio Janigro, whose 100th birth anniversary is being marked this year.

The ensemble performed together with one of the leading cellists of today, Marc Coppey, playing works by Joseph Haydn and Luigi Boccherini, as well as Mozart’s A Little Night Music.

Chateau de Versailles Spectacles is taking place as part of the official programme of the Royal Opera of Versailles and its significance is evidenced by the prominence of other ensembles and soloists performing in this year’s season such as Renaud Capucon, Jordi Savall, The King’s Consort, Les Arts Florissants, Philippe Jaroussky, the English Baroque Soloists, Sir John Eliot Gardiner and many others.
