ZAGREB, September 23, 2018 – The Zagreb Museum of Contemporary Art (MSU) has won a special recognition of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, an international non-profit foundation that brings together 13 Slavic countries and promotes contemporary culture and heritage.
The Forum’s jury said MSU was recognised for its prominent position in the country and beyond in art evaluation and presentation of artists and new art.
MSU was recognised as a socially responsible and highly efficient institution which organises several hundred innovative programmes and events a year, applying creative methods of interpretation.
The Forum member-states in 2012 established the Ziva award, which is conferred every year on museums which have the best projects and activities.
Competing for this year’s Ziva awards that were presented in Prague last week were 25 museums from Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Macedonia, Poland, the Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia.
The Ziva award for the best Slavic museum in 2018 went to the Emigration Museum in Gdynia, Poland.
