Croatian Small Shipbuilding Days celebrated ten years in 2018 – and going into another decade, the favorite event has some new plans in the works.
This year’s 11th edition of the Croatian Small Shipbuilding Days will be organized in a new term, from April 4 to 7, 2019, at a new location, which is the newly-built eastern part of the beautiful Marina Kaštela. The event has also been upgraded even further, and this year will welcome exhibitions by foreign crafts, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on January 20, 2019.
The organizing team announced that it was their intention this year to exhibit foreign vessels whose dimensions are tailored to the needs of locals. Therefore, we should not expect an overwhelming display of large luxury yachts, but instead, visitors will enjoy sailboats, motorboats, and inflatables, which are the real subject of interest – presenting genuine opportunities and fitting the needs of a Croatian person, who associates their life and every day needs with Croatia’s sea and islands.
The organization particularly points out that the dedication to the sea and having an understanding of it, in general, is an excellent incentive for the owner of Marina Kaštela, Captain Joško Berket, and his management.
Going into the new decade, the event supports the promotion and placement of vessels geared to the needs of people from the sea. The new location will undoubtedly encourage the promotion of sports tourism and the placement of outdoor equipment on the market, as well as the development of Croatia’s tourist offer on the coast.
No one should overlook the past 10 years of successful cooperation with the hotel and marina of the Le Meridien Lav hotel in Podstrana, however, whose management was well aware of the need to expand the number of exhibitors and visitors to the event, leading to the needing a new location of greater capacity.
All of this supports the desire to further promote Marina Kaštela and Kaštela itself as an excellent tourist destination. The novelties mentioned above also required a small name change to the event, which will now be called the Croatian Small Shipbuilding Days and Fair of Tourist Attractions in 2019.
