Andrej Kramarić scored and assisted in Hoffenheim’s victory on Friday, pushing the Croatian footballer into the top goalscorer spot in the history of the club.
In the 27th round of the German Bundesliga, Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen met at Rhein-Neckar-Arena where the hosts won 4:1. While the victory itself was reason enough to celebrate, Croatian national team player Andrej Kramarić took part in the win with a goal and an assist, reports Gol.hr on March 29, 2019.
Kramarić has thus become the best goalscorer in the history of Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga! In his three years at the German club, Kramarić has scored 47 goals in the Bundesliga, which is one more than the second-placed Sejad Salihović.
In the 10th minute of Friday night’s game, Kramarić brilliantly assisted with the outside of his boot for the Belfodil goal. The same player helped Kramarić score in the 79th minute. Belfodil shot, the ball went into the goal area, and Kramarić pushed the ball past the goal line.
Belfodil was a bit surprised by the Croatian national team player, as he hoped to complete a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen. Instead, Kramarić scored his 14th goal this season.
Tin Jedvaj played the entire match for Bayer Leverkusen in the left-back position.
With this victory, Hoffenheim is just one point below Bayer and six points outside of fourth place which guarantees a spot in the Champions League next season, though they have played one game more than all the teams in front of them. There are seven rounds left until the end of the season or 21 points.
Andrej Kramarić started his professional career at Dinamo in 2009. In his younger years at Dinamo, he scored 452 goals, making him the best scorer in the history of Dinamo’s youth program. He spent one season on loan at Lokomotiva, after which he signed for Rijeka in 2013 where he really began to catch eyes. In only 42 appearances, he scored 37 goals!
His excellent performances did not go unnoticed, and in 2015 he was bought by Leicester. Things in England didn’t go to plan, though it gave Kramarić a chance at Hoffenheim where he was able to show his class finally.
Kramarić recently signed a contract in the Bundesliga until June 2020.
