Storms Sweep Across Croatia

Expect rain and showers until Wednesday, temperatures finally below 30

Much anticipated weather change is finally here, and even though meteorologists were sending out warning about possible storms and strong winds for several days, most of us were caught by surprise.

Dubrovnik was hit by a strong summer storm around 1 PM and the temperatures dropped 10 degrees in just a few hours while the winds were carrying everythin in front of them including bar tables and awnings. Low clouds and heavy rains turned day into night so street lights had to be turned on along Stradun.

 

 

Locals and tourists were also caught off-guard by the summer storm in Zadar after two consecutive months of heat and drought, but we are sure most of them welcomed the much needed temperature drop.

 

Yesterday afternoon storms swept across Gospić causing power outage while thunderstorms caused several smaller fires across Istria.
